Immerse yourself with an insider Travelian guide on a day trip of discovery in Guanajuato, focusing on a variety of the neighborhoods, squares, alleys, and architecture of this labyrinthine city.

From the Mirador El Pipila, where you look out across the grand architecture of Centro towards the colorful palette of red, blue and green-painted homes on the hillsides, you will start a descent into experiencing both the magnificence of the city’s religious and civil buildings, as well as the neighborhoods of the everyday where the city truly lives its day-to-day life.

The majesty of the structures in the Centro owes much to the silver-mining bonanza of the 17th and 18th centuries, and the more modest residences of the people, who today use those buildings, radiate out from them in every possible direction. Find yourself feeling lost following the twisting streets of town, only to find one of its open, inviting green squares around the next corner.

Enjoy lunch in one of Centro’s fine European restaurants. Consider the finely-crafted offerings of one of Guanajuato’s premier silversmiths. As a surprise, enter and marvel at one of the city’s hidden cultural gems. Consider the fortress-like Alhondiga and the classical European-styled Mercado Hidalgo.

Join Travelian’s expert guides on this small-group tour and embrace the variety and vitality that is Guanajuato in comfort and safety.
